Two members of the Bondhay Golf Club team will be taking part in the the Alzheimer's Society's Memory Walk this October.
Josh and Mackenzie, Bondhay's Marketing Manager and Clubhouse Manager respectively, will be heading to Clumber Park in support of the charity's work to help people diagnosed with dementia. Both have encountered the disease first hand with Alan Hardisty, Bondhay's recently retired Managing Director and Owner, having been diagnosed in the last 18 months. Alan just so happens to also be Josh and Mackenzie's grandfather, so raising money for the Club's official charity hits home greatly.
Josh said "When we saw that the Memory Walk is taking place on our doorstep at Clumber Park, we didn't give a second thought to signing up and entering. Seeing what the disease is doing to a loved one is heartbreaking and to be given the chance to make a difference, no matter how small, seemed like a no brainer.
For the Alzheimer's Society to also be the Club/Captain's charity at Bondhay this year is a fantastic coincidence, so I hope that we can count on our members to show their support and work hand-in-hand with other fundraising efforts across various events. A huge thanks in advance to anyone that is kind enough to part with their hard-earned money for this fantastic cause.
I'm looking forward to a bit of sibling rivalry with our fundrasing efforts!"
